<p>In addition to <a href="https://aleasdeals.com/2020/03/21/amazon-hiring-100000-new-employees-apply-now/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Amazon hiring new employees</a> due to Coronavirus, Walmart is also planning to <a href="https://corporate.walmart.com/newsroom/2020/03/19/walmart-announces-special-cash-bonus-and-early-payment-of-q1-bonuses-totaling-nearly-550-million-for-hourly-associates?irgwc=1&;sourceid=imp_VMXVBETJnxyJTIBwUx0Mo3cwUknSKV2Nw2IdQQ0&;veh=aff&;wmlspartner=imp_12116&;clickid=VMXVBETJnxyJTIBwUx0Mo3cwUknSKV2Nw2IdQQ0" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">hire over 150,000 hourly associates</a> in the U.S. through the end of May. These new employees will work in stores, clubs, distribution centers, and fulfillment centers. The roles will be temporary at first, but may convert to permanent roles over time.</p>
<p>Walmart is also dramatically expediting the hiring process for key roles, such as cashiers and stockers. What is usually a 2-week application cycle will be reduced to a 24-hour process!</p>
<p>Walmart promotes more than 517 people every single day, and 38% of promotions go to first-year associates! Plus, associates that complete their training program will have an opportunity to boost their paycheck.</p>
<p>Starting rates will be at least $11 per hour, and could be higher depending on location, grade level, and experience.</p>
